Announcing Shellaine Godbold’s Exhibition “In sea-salt tears”

We are happy to announce In sea-salt tears, an exhibition by Shellaine Godbold, as a result of her activity during her stay at Studio Kura.

Godbold lives and works based in Canberra, focusing on drawing and making as a means of understanding and recording her experiences. Her recent research has focussed on travel and how we make connections and communicate through
shared experiences.Travelling to Japan a number of times since 2008, she has become very interested in the Japanese concept of ‘wabi sabi’.

Here are some words from the artist herself.

The work for this exhibition has been made in response to the natural environment around Studio Kura. I ride to the beach each day and watch the fishermen patiently wait while the tide moves in and out. Later I walk through liitle roads beside rice paddies to photograph clouds race across the sky.

Exhibitions by other current artists will be also held. Please visit Studio Kura to check exciting shows!
