Announcing Carla Cañellas’s Exhibition “(DECODING) Material games from the data base world.”

We are happy to announce an exhibition (DECODING) Material games from the data base world. by Carla Cañellas, as a result of her activity during her stay at Studio Kura. This will be shown as a part of Itoshima International Art Festival 2016, Itoshima Arts Farm.

Carla Cañellas is a visual artist based in Madrid, her work is focused on painting and educational workshops, but she is also interested in the use of other mediums to narrate stories: video, installation, drawing, etc.

She is graduated with a BA + MA in Fine Art from the UPV, Valencia, Spain, and she has been part of the painting workshops in the Estudio Arjona, Madrid, Spain. She has had numerous solo exhibitions in Europe and she has participated in international festivals.

(DECODING) proposes a visual and artistic analysis of the concept of identity with the encounter of mass media and the new uses of technology, like the social networks.

Date: October 22 (Saturday) & 23 (Sunday), 29 (Saturday) & 30 (Sunday) 11:00 to 17:00
Entrance fee: 1000 yen to purchase a passport (900 yen in advance, free entrance for kids aged under 7)
* We will hold an opening tour on Saturday the 22nd, starting at 11:00.
* The exhibition by other seven current residence artists and other domestic & international artists will be held during the art festival period in Nijo area.
