Bas Noordermeer (Netherlands) Residency: January, 2011
Bas Noordermeer first came to Japan in 2006, taking part in the S-AIR residence program in Sapporo, and there he showed installation and audiovisual works. Bas’s works use photography, video and sound to analyze and reconstruct time and space, and create a parallel reality or environment. Having see many social environments and many people with different circumstances and communication skills helps him give his work more depth and humor.
He stayed at Studio Kura for one month in January 2011. He showed his video installation Still in Itoshima at the end of his stay.
