Inkeri Jäntti

Inkeri Jäntti (Finland) Residence: September, 2016

Inkeri Jäntti is a Finnish photographer. She also works as an event photographer, producer and scriptwriter. She often builds staged photographs to tell a story but is also interested in nature photography. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Oulu University of Applied Sciences.

Jäntti’s work often explores questions of identity and personal purpose, while also touching on societal and cultural issues. She is inspired by abandoned houses, feminism and survival stories.

During her Studio Kura residency, Jäntti wants to get to know Japanese nature and culture and dedicate her time to art photography. Her starting point will be the Japanese concept of wabisabi and its idea of finding beauty and peace in imperfection, incompleteness and impermanence. She wishes to explore wabisabi more through photography.
