Marion Paquette (Canada) Residence: July 2017
Marion Paquette is a multidisciplinary artist based in Montreal. She completed her bachelor in Visual and Mediatic Arts at Université du Québec à Montréal in 2015. She also intends to begin a Major in Fibres and Material Practices at Concordia University in Montréal this next September. Her work has been shown in severals places in Montreal (Canada) and Nantes (France).
Her artistic interventions mainly emerge from intimate contents of various personal spheres. The topic of the intimacy, declined throughout the daily life, has led her to develop tangible forms of a Self in relation to its environment. Thus, her projects are generally performative actions and installations that amalgamating textile, drawings, writings and photography.
During her stay at Studio Kura, the artist intends to create a performative textile sculpture which will evolve as she becomes familiar with her new environment.
