Long time no see! This is Hiro.
Lately I’ve been singing Anpanman’s theme song in my head. I think my one year old daughter’s influence.

Today I’m writing about Australian photographer Pia Johnson’s lecture and workshop, which took place last month. She talked about her formation and what she has been doing after becoming a photographer. I got to listen to a lot of things I didn’t know about her, and was surprised at how awesome a person we had staying with us! I think the students were happy too, to hear so many interesting things from some closer to their age. Ale translated the lecture.

After the lecture, we got in a bus and went to Reizen Park for the street photography workshop. It was exciting, like a school field trip.

Then we went back to the university and reviewed everyone’s pictures. Even Pia was surprised at the quality of the work! We hope some of the students will become great photographers. It was a very fun workshop.

We also found a way for artists in residence at Studio Kura to give workshops at Kyushu University a number of times a year. We are looking forward to fine arts workshops too!
