We are happy to announce YUKI NO KO, an exhibition by Betty T Doll, as a result of her activity during her stay at Studio Kura.
Betty T Doll is an Australian artist specialized in painting. She got a MFA from The University of Western Australia, and a Master of Visual Arts from The University of Sydney, and is currently working on two PhD programs for two different universities.
Her work has been shown in Australia, USA and soon Japan; and she has participated in artist residency programs in Singapore, Australia, China and now Japan.
Here are some words from the artist herself.
My exhibition is a series of semi-abstract ghostly portraits of Japanese ball-jointed dolls, incorporating the ‘innocent gore’ elements from the Guro Lolita fashion.
