We are pleased to announce an exhibition What remains when it evaporates : multiple olfactive visuals by Francisca Derqui on June 24 (Sat) and 25 (Sun), as a result of her activity during her stay at Studio Kura.
Francisca Derqui is a photographer born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Her work is an intersection between photography, motion & design. Influenced by her education in the design field she studies the interaction between what’s material and what’s abstract, natural and artificial, liquid and solid by being conscious about how materiality influences it’s meaning. Her latest projects are a result of refractions and reflections of light that deepen on the contemplation of daily rituals.
Here are some words from the artist herself.
This project is about how to illustrate the sense of smell to find a particular expression that escapes the one processed into language. Curiosity about how smell impact on our personal imagery archive is the main focus of the work.
