We are pleased to announce an exhibition In Between by Eun-Kyung Suh on June 23 (Sat) & 24 (Sun), as a result of her activity during her stay at Studio Kura.
Korean-born artist, Eun-Kyung Suh completed her M.F.A. from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, IA, USA. Since 2008, she have been investigating the diasporic experiences of immigrants, transracial adoptees, and refugees, highlighting their fragmentary lives that resulted from involuntary or voluntary displacement.
Here are some words from the artist herself.
I have been investigating the diasporic experiences of immigrants, transracial adoptees, and refugees, highlighting their fragmentary lives that resulted from involuntary or voluntary displacement. For this exhibition, I would like to further investigate individuals’ fragmentary and fluid identity when exposed to a new environment that is not his/ her homeland or residential country.
