Announcing Colleen Kwok’s exhibition “夜はかならず明ける”

We are pleased to announce an exhibition 夜はかならず明ける by Colleen Kwok on December 21(Sat.) – 22(Sun.), as a result of her activity during her stay at Studio Kura.

Colleen Kwok is a filmmaker/photographer grew up between mainland China and Hong Kong. Colleen’s Chinese name is TungShuen, meaning the melody of childhood. She received her BFA in film & video from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where she concentrated on experimental filmmaking, and her MFA in writing/directing from New York University-Tisch. Since graduated, she has filmed contents in 13 different countries and now calls New York City a home.

You all have been enroute alone, hasten to somewhere unknown.
Always been told to keep going and, don’t turn back.
You can’t see what’s behind you, especially the dapples on your hair.
You are enroute alone, and the dawn will always break.

Date: December 21 (Saturday) & 22 (Sunday), 11:00 to 18:00.
* We will hold an artist talk on 22nd (Sun.), starting at 15:00.
* The exhibitions by other current residence artists will be held at the same exhibition periods.
