Announcing Kostas Papakostas & Stephanie Pochet’s exhibition “Yūgen (幽玄)”

We are pleased to announce an exhibition Yūgen (幽玄) by Kostas Papakostas & Stephanie Pochet on December 21(Sat.) – 22(Sun.), as a result of his activity during his stay at Studio Kura.

Kostas Papakostas was born in Athens, Greece in 1976.
Since graduating with a First-Class Honours Degree in Art in 2000, he has been working on video, live art, interactive new media installations, paintings and sculptures.

Stephanie Pochet is a French Indonesian documentary filmmaker born in Honolulu in 1981.
She moved to London in 2001 to study Media, Communications and Sociology at Goldsmiths University. Her time at Goldsmiths played an important role in shaping her critical thinking skills and continues to inform her practice to this day.

A poetic observational series of images and sounds exploring the essence of the Japanese word ‘Yūgen’.

Meditative fragments that expose the profound and mysterious sense of “the beauty of the universe and the sad beauty of human suffering”.

During their creative process, the artists aim to use their intuition as their only guide and leave their expectations and preconceptions behind while they immerse themselves in the unknown local setting.
