Adriana and Arnau Montserrat （アドリアナ・モンサラットとアルナウ・モンサラット）は、サウンドアートとパフォーマンスアートの分野に根ざしたアーティストデュオです。兄妹としての彼らの芸術的な旅は、幼少期からの遊びと探究心に基づいています。それぞれの芸術的な分野を融合させ、他の芸術形式とも絡めながら、常に進化する現代アートの世界を探求しています。

今回の滞在制作期間を通じて、彼らは参加型アートとの深い関わりを目指し、観客を巻き込む革新的な方法を模索します。彼らの探求の中心的なテーマは「沈黙」であり、それがコミュニティによってどのように認識され、体験され、解釈されるのかを探ります。個々の視点と集団的な視点の両方からこの認識を調べることで、日本社会におけるこの概念を理解し、自分たちの西洋文化的な視点と対話を確立します。この滞在は、EU-ジャパンフェストのサポートを受けています。

Adriana and Arnau Montserrat are an artistic duo rooted in the realms of sound and performance art. As siblings, their artistic journey extends from a lifelong passion for play and exploration. They meld their individual artistic disciplines, intertwining them with other art forms to navigate the ever-evolving landscape of contemporary art.
Their curiosity about inhabiting new forms of art has led them to develop projects that span performances, VR experiences, installations, and video art. They reimagine the relationship between performers and audiences in an inclusive and immersive way, exploring new frontiers in the integration of cutting-edge technologies and environments. They invite the public into a world of beauty and mystery, evoking the realm of dreams.
Throughout their residency, they aim to engage deeply with the intersection of participatory art, seeking innovative ways to immerse and engage audiences. The central theme of their investigation is ‘silence’—how it is perceived, experienced, and interpreted by the community. They will examine this perception both individually and collectively, allowing them to understand this concept within Japanese society and establish a dialogue that connects it to their own Western cultural perspectives. The residency is supported by the EU – Japan Fest.
