私は、多岐にわたる分野で活動するイラストレーターであり、アートがもたらす喜びと物語を伝える力に強く興味を持っています。私の制作のテーマは、自然や田舎での生活に影響を受けています。私は、小さな生き物たちを作品の中心に据えることに魅了されており、彼らを知り、キャラクターに深みを持たせるために、自然と「彼らは誰なのか」「どのような関係性を持っているのか」「どこに住んでいるのか」「どうやって仕事に行っているのか」といった問いを自らに投げかけます。このようにキャラクターを深く掘り下げる作業が、多くのアイデアを生み出すきっかけとなり、私が構築しているこの架空の世界の発展に大いに役立っています。
I am a multidisciplinary illustrator who is interested in the power of art to create joy and tell stories. The subjects of my practise are influenced by nature and my life in the countryside. I’m fascinated by bringing the small creatures of the world to the forefront of my work. To get to know and bring depth to the characters I’m making, I will naturally find myself asking ‘who are they’, ‘what are their relationships like’, ‘where do they live’, ‘how do they get to work’ etc. This act of exploring the character deeper informs a lot of my ideas and helps me develop this fictional landscape I’m building.
