Bernhard Hollinger（ベルンハルト・ホリンガー）は、ベルリンを拠点に、即興音楽、ジャズ、ビーツ、アヴァンギャルド、新音楽、アンビエント、エレクトロニック・ミュージックの領域を行き来する多層的なアーティストであり、実験音楽家、エレクトリック・ベース奏者、作曲家、プロデューサーです。
彼はキャリア初期をアムステルダムで過ごし、アムステルダム音楽院を卒業。その後、ニューオーリンズ、ニューヨーク、ライプツィヒ、サンティアゴ・デ・チリ、サンパウロなどで活動し、スティーヴ・ライヒ、B.C.マンジュナス、ブライアン・ブレイド、ミシェル・ンデゲオチェロ、ゲイリー・ウィリスといった音楽家のマスタークラスにも参加しました。
ジャンルや伝統の枠を超え、直感と柔軟さを探求の羅針盤とする彼の姿勢は、エレクトリック・ベースとエレクトロニクス、さまざまなツールを組み合わせ、さらにライトバルブなどのインタラクティブなビジュアル要素を取り入れることで体現されています。
また、Bernhardは実験的な形式や環境、冒険的な音楽を探究するプラットフォーム「Lo-Fi Playground」を主宰し、ベルリンの音楽コミュニティ（だけにとどまらず）を支える即興演奏家や舞台裏のクリエイターに焦点を当てた月例ラジオ番組「Space Lab Transmissions」を90mil Radioで配信しています。
そして、初のリーダー作・作曲作品となるアルバム『1987』を、4月25日にBoomslang Recordsからリリース予定です。
Bernhard Hollinger is a multi-layered artist, an experimental musician, bass player, composer and producer, navigating in the spectrum between Improvised Music, Jazz, Beats, Avantgarde, New Music, Ambient and Electronic Music, based in Berlin.
He spent the early years of his career in Amsterdam, where he graduated at Conservatory of Amsterdam, as well as in New Orleans, New York, Leipzig, Santiago de Chile and Sao Paolo and participated in masterclasses with musicians, such as Steve Reich, B.C. Manjunath, Brian Blade, Meshell Ndegeocello and Gary Willis.
His desire to go beyond genres and traditions through utilizing intuition and softness as a compass for his musical exploration shines through his unique combination of the electric bass guitar with electronics and tools, as well as incorporating interactive visual elements, such as light bulbs.
Besides, Bernhard is curating Lo-Fi Playground, a platform which is dedicated to experiment with format and setting and adventurous music as well as hosting the monthly radio show Space Lab Transmissions on 90mil Radio, focusing on improvisers and people behind the scene of – but not only – the Berlin music community. His debut album as a bandleader and composer 1987 will be released on Boomslang Records on 25th of April and features a group of international musicians, such as Teis Semey, Ashlin Parker, Yaniv Nachum, Matthias van den Brande, Augustas Baronas and more.
