多分野にわたるアーティストとして、音、ドローイング、衣装、パフォーマンス、ビデオパフォーマンスなど幅広い領域で活躍しています。ドイツの森から生まれ、ニュルンベルク美術アカデミーで彫刻家として卒業、アムステルダムのリートフェルト・アカデミーのVAVに1年間在籍した経験を経て、近年はブリュッセルの実験的な音と動きの地下シーンで自身を見出しています。神話と現代のテクノロジー、宇宙論、科学的仮説に基づく認識を織り交ぜることで、彼女はエンターテイメントやストーリーテリングのための刺激的な着想を得ています。現在、彼女が最も関心を持っているのは、集合的な脳という概念や、コラボレーションや出会いを通じた実りある進歩です。昨年のコラボレーションのハイライトとしては、イタリアでのSpaint Chords 2022によるヴェネツィア・ビエンナーレのオープニング、ドイツのクンストハレ・バーデンバーデンでの2021年「Raststätte Frankenwald」レジデンシー（V1）、そして2024年にドイツで開催された伝説的なAlter Ego Josephine Krautとのソロショーが挙げられます。さらに、彼女は楽器の収集が大好きで、集めた全ての楽器を一度に演奏しようと試みています。
JULIA LIEDEL
a multiinterdisciplinary artist, from sound, drawing, costumes to performance and video performance. Coming from the German woods, graduated as a sculptor in the Academy of Fine Arts Nuremberg, being a 1 year student at VAV at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, finding herself the last years in Brussels underground of experimental sound and movement. Interweaving myths with nowadays perception of technology, cosmology and scientific hypothesis gives her exciting sparcs to entertain and tell stories. The idea of a collective brain and fruitful progress through collaborations and encounters interests her at the moment the most. Highlights of last year‘s collaborations are the opening Venice Biennale with Spaint Chords 2022 (ITA), Residency Raststätte Frankenwald from 2021 (V1) at Kunsthalle BadenBaden (DEU) and the legendary Solo Show with Alter Ego Josephine Kraut 2024 in Germany.
