Sharon Murro（シャロン・ムーロ）は、グラフィックデザインをバックグラウンドに持つマルチディシプリナリーデザイナーです。自身のスタジオで長年にわたり書籍やロゴ、アルバムカバーのデザインを手がけたのち、新たな刺激と修士号取得のために学校に戻り、マルチディシプリナリーデザインを専攻しました。近年の作品は素材を中心に据え、環境への強い意識を特徴としています。
シャロンはこれまでに多数のグループ展に参加し、2022年には個展「The Joy of the Poor」を開催しました。この個展では、食用の種だけを使用し、接着剤や隠れた構造を一切用いずに成長させた有機的な作品を発表。会場に植え込んだ中心的なマンダラ作品は、展示期間中にわたり成長し続け、ダイナミックな視覚と体験の旅を提供しました。
今回、初めて日本を訪れる（ついに実現！）にあたっては、新鮮な視点で観察・思索を重ねながら、現地の素材文化、パターンや細部に着目し、発見と遊び心をもって創作の糧とする予定です。
Sharon Murro is a multidisciplinary designer with a graphic design background. After years of designing books, logos and album covers in her own studio, she returned to school to refresh and get her master’s degree in multidisciplinary design. Her recent works are material-driven, with a distinctive environmental focus.
Sharon has participated in numerous group exhibitions and held a solo show, The Joy of the Poor, in 2022. The exhibition featured living, organic works – objects she grew from edible seeds only, with no glue or hidden structure. The central Mandala piece she planted in the gallery, continued to grow throughout the month of the show, offering a dynamic visual and experiential journey.
As a first-time visitor to Japan (finally!), she will focus on observing and reflecting with a fresh eye, drawing inspiration from the local material culture, patterns and details, all with a sense of discovery and playful curiosity.
