イザベラ・マッカーディはオーストラリア・メルボルンを拠点に活動する独学のイラストレーターです。長年にわたりスタイルを確立してきた彼女は、当初は紙にグラファイト（鉛筆）を用いていましたが、その後インクを経て、現在では色鉛筆を主な画材として制作しています。 イザベラが興味を持つのは日常に存在するものたちで、とりわけ見落とされたり捨てられたりした物から、頼りにされ愛され続けている物まで様々です。彼女は、そうした物と、それらが属する（あるいはかつて属していた）人々や場所とのつながりを探求しています。細やかな構図とイラストレーションを通じて、これらの物たちがいかにアイデンティティや個性、人、場所についての物語を語るかというテーマを深く掘り下げています。 2017年からはデザイン業と並行して独立したイラストレーターとして活動を続けています。これまで複数のグループ展に参加し、2024年にはJohn Shaw Neilsen Acquisitive Art Prize（ジョン・ショー・ニールセン美術買上賞）を受賞しました。
Isabella MacKirdy is a self-taught illustrator based in Melbourne, Australia. She has developed her style over many years beginning with graphite on paper, transitioning into ink, to now utilising coloured pencil as her preferred medium.
Isabella takes interest in everyday entities, from the overlooked and discarded to the reliable and cherished. She explores the connection between these objects and the people or places that they belong to, or once belonged to. Through careful composition and illustration, her practice delves into how these items depict stories of identity, personality, people and places.
Since 2017 she has worked as an independent illustrator alongside her design practice. Isabella has participated in several group exhibitions and was the recipient of the John Shaw Neilsen Acquisitive Art Prize in 2024.
