ソフィー・ポッター（1990年生まれ）はイギリス・ウェールズ出身のアーティスト兼イラストレーターです。 彼女の作品は、花や自然、有機的な形態といった身近な風景からインスピレーションを得て、鮮やかな色彩を用いたエネルギッシュで遊び心あふれるスタイルが特徴です。 また、彼女が日本で言語と文化を学んだ経験から、日本の郷土玩具や民藝運動（mingei folk art）に強く影響を受けています。 主な制作方法として、紙や合板を切り抜いたものにガッシュ、アクリル絵具、オイルパステルを用いて作品を描いています。 2018年以降、彼女はファインアートの制作活動と並行してフリーランスのイラストレーターとしても活躍しており、大型の壁画制作のほか、Tate、ウィンザー＆ニュートン、チャプター・アーツ・センター、Made.comなど、多くのブランドや企業向けにイラスト、飲食品パッケージ、映像コンテンツなどを手がけています。
Sophie Potter (b.1990) is an Artist and Illustrator from Wales, UK.
Her art practice centers on creating playful work full of energy and optimism in vivid colour palettes, taking inspiration from flowers, the natural world and organic forms in her surrounding landscapes.
Her work is also deeply influenced by time spent studying language and culture in Japan, developing a keen interest in Japanese folk toys and mingei folk art.
She works predominantly on paper and plywood cutouts, in gouache, acrylic and oil pastel.
Since 2018 she has worked as an independent illustrator alongside her fine art practice, making large scale murals, illustrations for brands, food and drink packaging and video content for clients such as Tate, Winsor & Newton, Chapter Arts Centre, Made.com and many more.
