Studio Kuraは、オランダ出身のアーティストPhilo Ouweleenによる滞在制作発表展「Free Flow」を開催します！ Philoが1ヶ月の滞在期間中に制作した作品を展示します。入場料は無料です。開催日時：4月26日（土）、27日（日）の11:00から17:00まで（26日（土）14:30時よりアーティストトークを行います。）ぜひこの機会にお越しください。 以下アーティストからのメッセージです。 「Free Flow」では、創造性を自由に羽ばたかせたときに何が起こるかを探求します。今回のアーティスト・イン・レジデンスでは、事前に考えられたコンセプトや枠組みから制作するのではなく、「自由な流れ」の中で取り組みました。創造的な遊び心、オープンであること、そして好奇心が鍵となる要素です。 その結果として生まれたのは、絵画、ドローイング、コラージュ、写真を含む、多様な媒体や形式にわたる、色彩豊かで折衷的な一連の作品群です。繰り返し現れるテーマは、日本の田舎の日常に見られる美しさと魅力、そして神道です。 遊び心のある形式をとった、ある個人的で親密な作品は、私が慢性疾患を抱えながら生きていく上での現在進行形の葛藤を取り上げています。この傷つきやすい（※または、繊細な）テーマは、より普遍的な問題、すなわち「境界線を設けて自分自身を大切にする」という、非常に重要な実践にも触れています。架空の道路標識の形をしたこの絵画（人物が機能不全によって引き起こされる不便について謝罪しています）は、滞在中に私が出会った多くの標識から着想を得ています。それらの標識は、ささやかな写真コレクションとしても展示されています。 Philo Ouweleen Free Flow With ‘Free Flow’, I explore what happens when I let creativity roam. I have worked this artist in residence in a ‘free flow’ without working from preconceived concepts or frameworks. Creative playfulness, openness and curiosity are key elements. The result is a colourful and eclective body of work, spanning an array of mediums and formats, including painting, drawing, collage and photography. Themes that reoccur are the beauty and charm of everyday rural Japan and Shinto. One rather intimate personal work in a playful format addresses my ongoing struggle with living life with a chronic illness. This vulnerable topic touches upon a more universal issue; the critical practice of raising boundaries and taking care of oneself.
