Juan Pedroは、油彩やアクリル絵具、さらにはエッチングやアクアチント、リノカットなどの多様な版画技法といった伝統的な手法を通じて作品を表現するビジュアルアーティストです。最近では、ロストワックス技法やブロンズ彫刻にも挑戦し、新たな表現を模索しています。
「私は芸術というメディアを安心して自由に遊べる場所として捉え、人間が本来持つ創造力、すなわち内なる子どもとつながることで生まれる想像の世界を探求しています。それによって、擬人化されたり動物的だったり、あるいは抽象的であったりするハイブリッドな姿をした幻想的なキャラクターが夢のような風景や世界に現れるのです。私はこれらの存在を通じて物語や出来事、考え方、そして私なりの世界の捉え方を語っています。儀式的な慣習、夢、環境とそこに住む生き物たちとの繋がり、人間にとって不可解なことの起源や終わりを物語で説明するさまざまな文化の神話、霊や神々、形而上的で目に見えない世界といった魅力的なテーマに強く影響を受けています。」
2013年に初めて油絵を使い始め、それ以降、現在に至るまで油絵は特にお気に入りの表現手段となっています。また、メキシコ・グアダラハラ大学で美術を学びながら、アーティストであるフアン・カルロス・ナバロのアシスタントとして5年間勤務しました。2022年にはスペインのマドリード・アカデミー・オブ・アーツにて3ヶ月間学んでいます。これまでにグループ展に19回、個展に3回出展しています。

Juan Pedro is a visual artist who generally expresses his work through traditional techniques of oil on canvas, acrylic, and multiple graphics, specifically etching, aquatint, and linocut. He has recently experimented and become familiar with lost-wax and bronze sculpture.
“Using the medium of art as a safe place, I explore and play with the intrinsic capacity to create that characterizes humans and resides in the inner child, thus connecting with the imagination that allows me to access fantastic characters—generally hybrids of anthropomorphic, zoomorphic, and even abstract—inhabiting dreamlike landscapes and worlds. Through these beings, I tell stories, events, ideas, and my way of seeing and interpreting the world. Inspired by fascinating themes such as ritualistic practices, dreams, the connection between the environment and the beings that inhabit it, mythologies from different cultures that explain, through stories, the functioning, beginning, and end of the incomprehensible to humans, spirits and gods, the metaphysical and the invisible.”
In 2013, she used oil painting for the first time, and from that moment on, it has become her preferred medium to this day. I worked as an assistant to artist Juan Carlos Navarro for five years while also studying fine arts at the University of Guadalajara, Mexico.
In 2022, I studied for three months at the Madrid Academy of Arts in Spain.
I have had 19 group exhibitions and three solo exhibitions.
