ローラ・エーデルバッハーは、現在ウィーンを拠点に活動するフリーランスのイラストレーター兼デザイナーです。
ウィーンでグラフィックデザインを学んだ後、パリの国立高等装飾美術学校（ÉNSAD）およびハンブルク応用科学大学（HAW Hamburg）でイラストレーションを専攻し、修士号を取得しました。2015年から2019年にかけては、ドイツの『ZEITmagazin（Die ZEIT）』誌で毎週連載されるインフォグラフィックのコラムを担当。また、アーヘン大学にてインフォグラフィックに関する講演活動も行っています。
彼女のイラストは『ニューヨーカー』、『ニューヨーク・タイムズ』、Google、DKNYなどで取り上げられたほか、ハンブルク工芸美術館（Museum of Art and Design Hamburg）での展示会にも出展されています。また、エディトリアル・イラストレーションをはじめ、音楽関連のアートワークやミュージックビデオ、ブランディング、パッケージデザインなど幅広い分野で活動しています。
彼女の作品は、歪んだリアリズム（distorted-realist）でキッチュな作風が特徴で、60年代のデザイン、70年代のファッション、そして80年代のシンセポップへの愛情から影響を受けています。
Laura Edelbacher is a freelance illustrator and designer currently based in Vienna.
After completing a degree in graphic design in Vienna, she studied illustration at ÉNSAD Paris and HAW Hamburg, where she graduated with an MA. From 2015 to 2019 Laura worked on a weekly infographic column for ZEITmagazin (Die ZEIT) Germany. She has also been giving talks on infographics at University Aachen.
Laura has had her illustrations featured in The New Yorker, The New York Times, at Google, and DKNY, as well as at exhibitions such as at the Museum of Art and Design Hamburg. She has additionally been working in different fields, such as editorial illustration, music artwork and videos, branding and packaging design. Her work is best described as distorted-realist, kitschy, and informed by a love for 60s design, 70s fashion, and 80s synth pop.
