Lyndon Polan is a Montreal-based artist whose practice explores the subtle interplay between individual works and the narratives they collectively suggest. His approach often unfolds in sequences or series, creating a dialogue that invites both personal and shared interpretations. Drawing from his experiences with lucid dreaming, Lyndon delves into the subconscious, using painting and drawing as tools of introspective and intellectual inquiry. His work is deeply influenced by the theories of Jung and Freud, as well as literature on hypnosis and oneiric states. Through his art, he seeks to evoke the elusive textures of dreamscapes, offering viewers an immersive space where waking life and reverie intertwine.
During his residency at Studio Kura, Lyndon Polan will be developing The Caterpillar, a graphic novel that explores lucid dreaming and the subconscious. Through surreal imagery and fragmented storytelling, the project reflects on the fluid boundary between waking life and dreams, drawing from personal experiences and psychological research.
