Piret(ピレト)はエストニア出身の彫刻家・ガラス作家・デザイナーです。主な制作媒体はドローイングやインスタレーションで、自然素材やリユース素材を多用し、地球への責任を常に意識しながら制作に取り組んでいます。
エストニア芸術アカデミーで学び、チェコ・ズリーンへのエラスムス留学のほか、ベルギー、フランス、リトアニアでも研鑽を積みました。エストニア彫刻家協会の会員として活動し、ポートレート・モデリングをこよなく愛しています。
彼女の作品は、人間が生み出すものと自然界との相互作用に魅了され、その二元性を探究するものです。自然素材や有機的なフォルムを取り入れることで「内側と外側が映し合う」世界観を表現しています。
ピレトは「伝えたいことがあるときに作品は生まれる」と語ります。2022年にはタリンのメトロポル・ギャラリーで、繊細で心揺さぶる個展「Boulevard of Broken Hearts（壊れた心の大通り）」を開催し、高い評価を得ました。
今回は初めての来日となり、Studio Kuraでの滞在制作に臨みます。
Piret is a sculptor, glass artist and designer from Estonia. She’s medium are drawing, installation, materials- mostly from nature or reusing. She feels responsible of mother earth.
She studied in Esonian Academy of Art. Had erasmus in Zlin and practiced in Belgium, France and Lithuania. She is a member of Estonian Sculptor’s Union and participating
She loves portrait modelling and fascinated by the interplay between human creation and the natural world. Her artworks explore this duality, combining elements of both by incorporating natural materials and forms into her work. All in this world is mirroring from inside to outside and opposite.
She sais: my artwork will born if I have something to say.
She had a very beautiful and touching solo exhibition – Boulevard of a Broken Hearts – in Metropol Gallery, Tallinn at 2022.
It’s her first time to visit Japan and Studio Kura.
