Joanna Letchimy（ジョアンナ・レチミー）は、フランスを拠点に活動するインドインク（墨汁）アーティスト兼写真家です。彼女が撮影する風景は、その瞬間の抽象的な即時性と呼び起こされる感情を通じて、インドインクの抽象的なストロークや滲みで自身の地平線や感情を描くためのインスピレーションとなっています。
アーティストは「シンプルに美しい」現実を、永遠にとどめられた瞬間として取り込み、紙・鉛筆・インクというメディアを介して繊細さと詩情を吹き込みます。主に黒を基調にしながら、その色のさまざまな濃淡と深みを自在に操るのが特徴です。
今回のレジデンスの目標は、ジョアンナが日本の風景に身を浸し、そこで得られる新たな感情を体験し、それらを抽象表現の詩情と残された痕跡によって解釈・表現することです。
Joanna Letchimy is a French Indian ink artist and photographer, based in France. The landscapes she photographs, the abstract immediacy of the moment, and the feelings they evoke inspire her to paint her own horizons and emotions through abstract strokes and stains in Indian ink.
The artist appropriates a “simply beautiful” reality like an eternalized moment into which she infuses sensitivity and poetry through the medium of paper, pencils, and inks. Primarily in black, the artist plays with the different tones and depths of this color.
The goal of this residency for Joanna is to immerse herself in Japanese landscapes and, above all, to be able to experience other emotions and interpret them through the poetry of abstraction and the traces it leaves.
