Layla Krantz（レイラ・クランツ）は、ニューヨークを拠点に活動するビジュアルアーティストです。彼女の作品は、自然や人間の経験に内在する「無秩序の必然性」を受け入れ、そこに安らぎを見出すことを私たちに促します。彼女のアートは、存在のエントロピー（無秩序）を抱きしめ、不完全さや葛藤、悲しみを人生の不可欠な一部として肯定しています。具象と抽象を組み合わせながら、夢や記憶、感情、スピリチュアリティがどのように私たちのアイデンティティや人間関係を形づくるのかを探求しています。
レイラは作品の中に幻想的でシュルレアリスティックな要素を取り入れることで、現実を映し出す鏡のような役割を果たし、身体と環境が「こうあるべき」とされる枠を超えていくための空間を生み出しています。既存の典型的なイメージ（アーキタイプ）を揺さぶることで、鑑賞者に自らの感情的反応と向き合うことを促し、不快ささえも開かれた心と脆さとともに受け入れることへと導きます。
彼女はインク、水彩、木炭といった流動的で自由度の高い素材を好み、それらは制約のない創作プロセスに適しています。スタジオクラでは、これまで親しんできた油彩にも再び取り組みたいと考えています。また、彼女はタトゥーアーティストとしても活動しています。
Layla Krantz is a visual artist from New York City. Through her work she encourages us to welcome and take solace in the inevitability of disorder, as is inherent to nature and the human experience. Her art embraces the entropy of existence, acknowledging imperfection, struggle, and grief as integral parts of life. She combines figurative and abstract styles to explore how the interplay of dreams, memory, emotions, and spirituality shapes our identities and relationships.
Layla incorporates fantastical and surreal elements in her art, to hold a mirror to reality and create a space where body and environment can transcend from what we are told is acceptable. By destabilizing familiar archetypes in her work, she invites us to confront our emotional responses to our surroundings, and embrace discomfort with openness and vulnerability.
She favors ink, watercolor, and charcoal, fluid mediums which lend themselves to an unrestrained creative process. At Studio Kura she hopes to reacquaint with oil painting, which she has enjoyed in the past. She is also a tattoo artist.
