Fleur Delavilleは、アナログ写真とデジタル写真、プレシネマ期に関連する装置、そしてアーティストブックを用いて制作しています。彼女の実践は、イメージを鑑賞するための状況をつくり出すと同時に、その物質性や持続可能性への影響、鑑賞者の位置、そして建築が身体や知覚をどのように枠づけるのかを問いかけるものです。折りたたまれた物語、光、そして遊び心のあるオブジェや玩具のような要素を通して、彼女は「不気味さ」や「まなざし」といった反復的なテーマを探求しています。
近年は、アーティストブックの出版と、それらをアートブックフェアやパフォーマティブな文脈で発表することに力を入れており、観客とのより近い対話を生み出そうとしています。
フランス・カーンのESAMでアート（コミュニケーション専攻）の学士号を取得した後、ノルウェーのベルゲン大学で美術修士号を取得しました。現在はドイツ・ハンブルクのVorwerkstiftで長期レジデンス・アーティストとして活動しながら、2025年10月から2026年9月までの1年間、ワーキングホリデーで日本に滞在しています。
Studio Kuraでの滞在中、彼女は現在進行中のプロジェクトとして、日本の伝統家屋をもとにした建築模型の形をとる、新しいパフォーマティブなオブジェの制作に取り組みます。滞在の終わりまでに、木製の構造部分を完成させることを目指しています。
Fleur Delaville works with analogue and digital photography, machines related to the pre-cinematic period, and artist books. Her practice creates situations for viewing images while questioning their materiality and sustainable impact, the position of the spectator, and the ways architecture frames bodies and perception. Through folded narratives, light, and a playful use of objects and toy-like elements, she explores recurring notions of the uncanny and the gaze.
More recently, she has focused on publishing artist books and presenting them in art book fairs and performative contexts to engage in closer dialogue with her audience.
After completing a bachelor’s degree in Art (communication option) at ESAM in Caen, France, she obtained a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Bergen, Norway. She is currently an artist in long-term residency at Vorwerkstift in Hamburg, Germany, while living in Japan for a year on a working holiday (October 2025-September 2026).
During her residency at Studio Kura, she will work on an ongoing project, a new performative object in the form of an architectural model of a traditional Japanese house. She hope to finish the wooden structure by the end of her stay.
