Studio Kura is currently in the midst of a “quiet festival.” Since announcing our participation in the Art Book Fair Fukuoka, packages have been arriving day by day from all corners of the globe. These are works sent by our alumni artists—those who have spent time with us here in Itoshima. To everyone checking our posts: thank you. Thank you for remembering Itoshima, for carefully choosing which work to send, for packing them, and for handling the paperwork. We know how much effort that takes. Opening these packages feels like Christmas morning. We’ve been unwrapping each one with the same excitement as opening a long-awaited gift. And can you believe it? Some artists even traveled here in person to hand-deliver their work. To you, and to everyone who sent a piece of themselves: thank you. Truly, thank you. In a world where the news often feels heavy and uncertain, this experience has become a profound reminder of our heartfelt connections. On the surface, these are “international shipments for an exhibition.” But in reality, this is a deeply artistic and essential project that transcends the facts. It feels like a shared declaration of our stance—from the world, to the world. We are strong because we are connected at the heart. We love your diversity, your compassion, and the courage you show by letting your imagination travel all the way to this small town. The Art Book Fair takes place at the end of this month. We’ll be sure to share reports from the venue soon!。
