リサ・J・マイオーネは、アーティスト、デザイナー、そして作家です。日本の東京で生まれ、カリフォルニア州とテキサス州で育ち、その後ニューヨーク市で形成期を過ごした経験から、言語・地理・文化の境界で起こる事象に長年関心を寄せ、その影響を受けてきました。
彼女の創作活動は、文章、写真、書道、版画を横断しながら展開されており、可読性と抽象性のあいだに漂うようなイメージを生み出しています。
スタジオで座ったり立ったりして制作していない時には、身体を動かすことを何より好みます。散歩や自転車、あるいは長距離ドライブを楽しんでいます。
彼女は、Rhode Island School of DesignでBFA（美術学士）およびMFA（美術学修士）を取得し、さらにType@Cooperで書体デザインの修了証を取得しています。現在は、Kansas City Art Institute（アメリカ・ミズーリ州カンザスシティ）にてグラフィックデザインを教えています。
Lisa J. Maione is an artist, designer and writer. Born in Tokyo Japan, raised in California and Texas, and having spent her formative years working in New York City, she has long been interested in and influenced by all that happens at the edges of language, geography and culture. Her creative practice draws on writing, photography, calligraphy and printmaking to produce images suspended between the legible and the abstract. When not sitting or standing in the studio, she loves to be in movement — a walk, a bicycle ride, or a long drive. She holds an MFA and BFA from Rhode Island School of Design and a post-graduate certificate in Typeface Design from Type@Cooper, and teaches graphic design at Kansas City Art Institute (Kansas City, Missouri, USA).
