以下アーティストからのメッセージです。
記憶はどのように始まるのだろうか。アーティストとして私は、未来においてより明晰に考えるための道筋をつくる方法として、意識的に「思い出す」ための余白を生み出している。日々の執筆、写真、ドローイングを通して、日常の経験の細部は、記憶のやわらかな輪郭と混ざり合っていく。
私はこの創作実践を、そうした心の習慣のあいだをつなぐインターフェースとして捉えている。私のスタジオでの制作は、縁側のような場であり、内と外、そして制作過程における可視のものと不可視のものとのあいだにある緊張が交わる場所である。
木版画の技法は、風景の経験を解釈すること、そして実験的な手作りの馬楝を用いて刷ることを通して探求されている。
How does a memory begin? As an artist, I am intentionally making space for remembering, as a way of making pathways for clearer thinking in the future. Through daily writing, photography and drawing, the details of daily experience intermingle with the softer edges of remembering. I see this creative practice as an interface between these habits of mind. My studio practice is an engawa, a meeting place for the tension between inside and outside, between aspects of process that are visible and non-visible. Mokuhanga printmaking is explored through interpreting the experience of the landscape and printing with experimental hand-made barens.
