Erica Garber（エリカ・ガーバー）は、カリフォルニア州オークランドを拠点に活動するキュレーター兼アーティストです。
娘であり母でもある自身の立場から、近年は「記憶が世代を超えてどのように受け継がれていくのか」をテーマに制作を行っています。個人的な記憶はいかにして家族の物語を形づくるのか。そして、それらはどのように保存され、変容し、ときには忘れ去られていくのか――そうした問いを作品を通して探求しています。
ドローイングや絵画、アーカイブ写真を含む古い写真や拾い集めたオブジェクトなど、多様な素材を組み合わせたミクストメディア作品を制作し、時間の流れ、その経過が身体に与える影響、そして時間が物質の上に残す痕跡を表現しています。
アリゾナ大学で美術学士（BFA）を取得後、コロンビア大学で修士号（MA）を取得しました。
Erica Garber is a curator and artist based in Oakland, CA. As a daughter and a mother, her recent work explores how memories are passed between generations. How does personal memory form family narratives? How are they preserved, distorted, and/or forgotten? Working in mixed media—including drawing, painting, and found objects, including archival photos—she creates work that reflects on time: its passage, its impact on the body, and the material traces it leaves behind. She earned her BFA from University of Arizona and MA from Columbia University.
