Yen erh Chuang / Milly は、台湾出身の陶芸家です。

彼女は昨年の夏まで、3年間にわたり日本の高知で制作と研鑽を重ねてきました。

近年は、アイスランドやネパールを含む複数のアーティスト・レジデンスに参加しています。

彼女の作品の多くは自然から着想を得ており、その旅の中で絶えず形を変え続けています。

「私の作品は、もしかすると石のようでもあり、詩のようでもあり、種や歌のようでもあるのかもしれません。

目には見えず、言葉にすることのできないものが、世界にはたくさんあります。そして私は、土という素材が、それ自身の方法でそれらを映し出してくれるものだと感じています。

私の作品は、その時々の周囲の環境や季節、世界、そしてその時の私自身を映し出しているのかもしれません。

そこには、感情や音、色があるかもしれないし、あるいはただ何もないだけかもしれません。

それらは、自然にあるすべてのもののように、ただそこに存在しています。」

Yen erh Chuang / Milly is a ceramic artist from Taiwan.

She had been training in Kochi Japan for three years until last summer.

Recently she had joined several artist residency including Iceland and Nepal.

Her works are mostly inspired by nature. And they keep transforming in her journey.

“ I am thinking my work is maybe like a stone, a poem , a seed or a song.

There is so much thing invisible and unspeakable . And I feel clay is a material to reflect in its own way.

My work may reflect the surrounding , the season, the world and how I am at the time.

There might be a feeling, a sound, a color or even just nothing.

They just exist there, like all the nature.”
