Chaeyeon Hong (b. 1991) is a painter who has held two solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions. In recent years, she has expanded her artistic practice through international projects and collaborations.
Hong’s work centers on the concept of “boundary.” For her, boundaries are not simply lines of separation, but spaces where different elements meet, overlap, and coexist. Drawing from personal memories, digital imagery, and social symbols, she constructs multilayered visual compositions that invite imagined dialogues.
Her paintings extend beyond the limits of a single canvas, expanding across multiple surfaces and into installation. By engaging walls, floors, and surrounding space, her works create open visual environments that shift according to the viewer’s movement and perspective. Through this approach, Hong explores the fluid relationships between reality and fantasy, online and offline, proposing painting as a dynamic medium that continuously reconfigures boundaries.
