Juliana Ronchesel（ジュリアナ・ロンシェル）
ブラジル出身のアーティスト、リサーチャー。織りと、素材を拡張的に扱う実践を通して、時間、聴くこと、そして変容について探求しています。
彼女は織るという行為を、「聴くこと」「関係を結ぶこと」「時間を重ねること」の実践として捉えています。身体と素材との接触を起点に、反復される身振りによって時間を作品へと刻み込み、喪失や変容の経験と対話するように制作を行っています。
彫刻的な作品制作と並行して、アナログ写真にも取り組んでいます。写真は、時間や記憶、日常の中で静かに起こる変化を観察し、記録するためのもう一つの方法となっています。
糸と手仕事を中心に、織り、粘土、拾い集めた素材などを一つの素材言語として組み合わせ、彫刻作品を制作しています。作品にはあえて糸の端が残されることも多く、それらは作品の一部として、完成することや覆い隠すことへの抵抗を示しています。
動き、不安定さ、そして時間は、彼女の制作を通して常に存在する要素です。一つひとつの作品は、反復し、待ち、丁寧に手をかける時間の中から形づくられていきます。
Juliana Ronchesel
Brazilian artist and researcher. Through weaving and expanded material practices, she explores time, listening, and transformation.
She approaches weaving as a practice of listening, relation, and duration. Beginning with the body in contact with material, her work uses repeated gestures to inscribe time, in dialogue with experiences of grief and transformation. Alongside her sculptural practice, analogue photography becomes another way of observing and recording the subtle transformations of time, memory, and everyday life.
Centered on thread and handmaking, she creates sculptural works in which weaving, clay, and found materials become part of the same material language. Loose threads often remain visible as an integral part of the work, resisting completion and concealment. Movement, instability, and time are constant presences throughout her practice. Each piece is shaped through repetition, waiting, and care.
