Candace Pritchard (Canada) Residence: November 2019
Candace Pritchard is from a rural town on Vancouver Island British Columbia, Canada.
After raising a family and retiring from her career Candace completed a Fine Arts diploma program in 2009. Since then she has taken textile related workshops including a 2 week session in Japan in 2016. The history and cultural aesthetics of cloth, rope and paper uses are her areas of interest. She participates in community art and eco fashion events.
Candace will explore mark making on fabric and Japanese sourced materials to make sculptural works using shibori and other techniques. She is excited to be able to expand skills and experience in preparing for the Studio Kura exhibit.
