Ella Harrington Knapton (New Zealand) Residency: April 2018
Ella Harrington Knapton is a multidisciplinary artist based in Dunedin, New Zealand.
She Completed her Bachelor of Visual Art at the Dunedin School of art in 2014 and was awarded the Feldspar scholarship in 2015. She has since been involved in several exhibitions and projects in Dunedin including poetry and fashion collaborations.
Working within contemporary drawing practice Ella’s work and research engages in human relationships with complexity, disorder and control and how that directly relates to drawing practice itself.
During her residency period, Ella will be making a body of work exploring systems, speed, order, dislocation and navigation made specifically with Japanese systems and geographies.
