Fongyee (Singapore) Residence: April 2019
Fongyee is a multidisciplinary artist working mostly with technology and kids, and sometimes both at the same time. She graduated from Central Saint Martins with a degree in Graphic Communication Design.
She believes in learning through play and her work, which is highly collaborative in nature, constantly seeks to activate dialogue between people, objects and spaces. She is a motherbot to an obstacle avoiding robot and her most recent work included investigating the use of technology to enable children with special needs to express themselves creatively. She has exhibited in London, Brussels, Seoul and Singapore.
During the residency period, she hopes to explore experimental storytelling with children and to kickstart a travelling library of children’s stories.
