Ollanski (Germany) Residence: September 2017
Ollanski is a multi award-winning paper engineer, art director, creative director, director and illustrator based in Berlin.
In 2008 he quit a PhD in molecular neurobiology at the Max Planck Institute in Berlin to pursue his passion for paper craft.
Since then he has made hand-crafted paper objects for photographic and animated advertising campaigns of iconic brands like Ferrero, PlayStation, Pepsi and IBM. His work has been featured in publications like NYLON (US), brandeins (GER) and Ud&Se (DK) and brought him 31 design, illustration and motion design awards and nominations.
During his residency, Ollanski aims to explore the fine art side of paper engineering and create 3D sketches for paper reliefs in a technique he is currently developing using Japanese washi paper.
