We are pleased to announce an exhibition The Minimum Excess<\/strong> by Elena Boil, as a result of her activity during her stay at Studio Kura on May 27 (Sat) & 28(Sun).<\/p>\n

Born in Mexico, Elena Boils<\/a><\/strong> is an Illustrator and visual artist based in London. She graduated from University college Falmouth in 2012 with a bachelors degree in illustrator and later on from Central Saint Martins with a masters degree in theory and philosophy of Art.<\/p>\n

Her work is a mixture of digital and hand created images which explore space as a place where both the observed and the imagined come to be. Colour is a key element to the way in which she creates images as well as the simplicity of arrangement in objects.
\n<\/p>\n

Here are some words from the artist herself.<\/p>\n

The work I will have produced for the time I have spent in Studio Kura comes as an exploration of both internal and external processes of my own image making. The nature of these images is twofold. One,
\na simplification process inspired by the subtleness and balance that I have found on the side of Japanese tradition. As well as, the excessive as a thematic which prevails in a modern culture. I am striping my images of the complexities of colour, depth and ultimately finalization. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\n* We will hold an exhibition party and an artist talk on Saturday the 27th, starting at 15:00.
