Alan Cernak’s “Ugokigami” opened last Saturday and can be visited until tomorrow!
\nYou can see a number of different kinds of work here. The biggest works are two large tesselations, a new technique Alan has developed recently.<\/p>\n

\nTesselations consist on a large paper folded in a way that a different picture can be seen if you look from the right or from the left. Maybe you remember Black Jack and the Princess Knight from the exhibition’s flyer. It’s actually the same tesselation taken from both sides. To clarify, the back of the paper is not used in these tesselations.<\/p>\n

Other works shown at the exhibition include his original origami techniques and moving toys he made out of cubic or triangular blocks (also made by himself). Visitors being encouraged to play with these made this a very special exhibition.<\/p>\n

Then there were prints of silkscreen works, color pencil works, and some of Alan’s more recent 2D work, produced in an entirely digital way.<\/p>\n
