Born and raised in Brazil, I have been living in Paris for 20 years, working as a (photo)journalist. Throughout my career my projects have focused on social-economic themes, including, most recently, the issues of illegal immigrants in France and the Brazilian transgender community in Paris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My current project is about the Japanese diaspora, including my own journey as the granddaughter of Japanese immigrants and as an immigrant myself in Europe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m glad to be in Fukuoka for this new step of my project. My family left this island for a new life in Brazil, more than a hundred years ago, and I\u2019ve already been discovering many connections with my life on the other side of the globe and my local roots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
