Lyubov Matyunina ルバ・マチュニナは、映像、テキスタイル、仮面制作を専門とし、現在オランダのアムステルダムで制作活動を行っています。Gerrit Rietveld Academy(アムステルダム)で美術学士号を、またBFU(ロシア)でジャーナリズムの修士号を取得しています。個展「Carpetologia」はアムステルダムのW139(2017年)で発表されたほか、ART Rotterdam 2018の一貫として映像発表も行いました。「Who can be happy and free? 」(2014年)はロッテルダムでTENT Academy Public Choice Awardを受賞。これまでWürttembergischerKunstverein Stuttgart(2016年)での「Post Peace」を含むグループ展やフェスティバルへの参加、また第5回モスクワ現代美術ビエンナーレの特別プロジェクトPlaing Natureへの出展(2013年)など国際的に活動しています。

Lyubov Matyunina uses literature and current events as a starting point. In her artistic practice, she aims to push the boundaries of traditional documentary filmmaking and capture a sense of the absurd. She uses journalistic methods combined with performance, art installations and textiles to create a multidisciplinary platform to explore her ideas. She uses fairy tales as both a way to rethink supposedly inherent societal values and reflect on present crisis, especially transparency, virtual reality, social media and the Internet.

During her residency period, the artist aims to explore plan to collect and rethink myths and fairy tales that are still alive in the region. Based on this selection Lyubov plans to make masks and a video work.
