Madeleine Sherburn メディリン・シャーバーンは、メルボルンを拠点とする新進気鋭作家であり、フォトグラフィー・スタディーズ大学にてファインアーツ分野の写真学科を取得し2019年に卒業しました。写真からビデオ、パフォーマンス、インスタレーション、テキストなど制作媒体を広げるにつれて、作品は現代の西洋社会で守られている役割や儀式における自身の立ち位置（居場所）に疑問を抱くようになりました。こうした状況がどのように過去、現在そして未来に影響するか特に焦点を当てながら制作を展開しています。
During her residency at Studio Kura, Madeleine wishes to respond to her new experiences, particularly through both the physical and metaphysical contact and its implications on the environment. By reflecting upon the landscape of Itoshima and its surroundings, she wishes to communicate the organic and natural’s connection with the impressions that the body and the self leave, and vice versa. From this research in an entirely new environment, she intends to gain greater insight into her evolving practice.
