Announcing Corinne Caro’s Exhibition “By The Sea”

We are pleased to announce an exhibition By The Sea by Corinne Caro on October 20 (Sat), 21 (Sun) and 27 (Sat), 28 (Sun), as a result of her activity during her stay at Studio Kura. This will be shown as a part of Itoshima International Art Festival 2018, Itoshima Arts Farm.

Corinne Caro is a concept artist and illustrator based in Laguna, Philippines. She studied Painting at the University of the Philippines for one year before transferring to Savannah College of Art and Design in Hong Kong to pursue a degree in Sequential Arts. Her works have been shown in Manila, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and the United States.

A collection of paintings that depict calm sceneries. Quiet moments of solitude between people and nature are something that one rarely gets to experience in a world where we are moving faster and faster. Despite knowing how small we are compared to the world, if you take a step back and look, you’ll see that you’re never truly alone.

Date: October 20 (Saturday), 21 (Sunday), 27 (Saturday), 28 (Sunday) 11:00 to 17:00.
Entrance fee: 1000 yen to purchase an Itoshima Art Festival 2018 (900 yen in advance, free entrance for kids aged under 7)
* We will hold an opening tour on Saturday the 20th, starting at 11:00.
* The exhibition by other current residence artists and other domestic & international artists will be held during the art festival period in Nijo area.

Corinne Caro (The Philippines) Residence: August to October 2018

Corinne Caro is a concept artist and illustrator based in Laguna, Philippines. She studied Painting at the University of the Philippines for one year before transferring to Savannah College of Art and Design in Hong Kong to pursue a degree in Sequential Arts. Her works have been shown in Manila, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and the United States.

She is interested in visual development for games, animation, and comics. Because of her interest in visual storytelling, Corinne will be creating a series of paintings and drawings that focuses on the local life and culture in Fukuoka during her stay at Studio Kura.
