Announcing Marcelina Wellmer’s Exhibition “33° 33′ 14″ N, 130° 11′ 52″ E”

We are pleased to announce an exhibition 33° 33′ 14″ N, 130° 11′ 52″ E by Marcelina Wellmer on March 24 (Saturday) & 25 (Sun), as a result of her activity during her stay at Studio Kura.

Marcelina Wellmer graduated in video and drawing on Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan / Poland. She lives and works in Berlin.
Her works plays with the sensibility of machines, the fragility of digital memory and the interaction between human body and artificial objects. She works in different media like video, installation and painting. The works were showed in several exhibitions and festivals in Europa, Australia, Canada, USA and Japan.

Here are some words from the artist herself.

33° 33′ 14″ N, 130° 11′ 52″ E installation make visible a new kind of Itoshima – area map, created by human body moving in the outdoor space. The GPS recordings from every day walks turned into drawings; parallel, the daily audio recordings get composed into a minimalistic sound piece.
The digital facts got translated into the final analogue form – it is a play with partly random, partly controlled process of materialisation.
