Leanne Xiu Williams (b. 1995) is an artist based in Sydney, Australia. Drawing from personal, archival, and found photographs, her practice investigates the ways in which images shape both memory and imagination. In particular, the acts of looking, remembrance, and reinterpretation reveal how images shift in meaning, and how memory itself is subject to continual revision. Painting becomes a site of translation and negotiation, where memory and identity are continually reconstituted through material processes.
