以下アーティストからのメッセージです。
Shaiku（シャイク）は、日本の俳句と、私の中に呼び起こされる共感覚から着想を得た言葉です。
日本で撮影した写真は、ある瞬間に立ち現れる感情や思考の表れです。それは、静けさ、美しさ、物悲しさ、あるいは目の前の瞬間への敬意や感嘆かもしれません。
私は、作品に特定の解釈を求めてはいません。詩の素晴らしさは主観性にあり、見る人それぞれが、自分なりの重要性や意味を与えることができます。それは写真の読み取り方とも同じです。順番に追ってもよいし、自由に眺めてもよいし、自分にとって最もふさわしい、あるいは心に響く時間をかけて向き合ってもよいのです。
自然や日常の中の物、あるいは自己と存在を表現する人と調和する、言葉と視覚による構成。
俳句が一瞬や体験をとらえるその繊細さと同じように、私は写真の中でその瞬間を表そうとしています。
SHAIKU
Shaiku is a word inspired by Japanese haiku poems and the synesthesia they evoke in me.
The photos taken in Japan are a representation of emotions and thoughts that capture a revealing moment; perhaps it is a feeling of calm, beauty, melancholy, or admiration for the moment before me.
I am not in need of any specific interpretation. The wonderful thing about poems is that they are subjective, and each person can give them the importance and meaning they wish. This leads us to the same reading as with photographs: follow the order, read them, or take the time that best suits you or resonates with you.
A composition of words and visuals that exhibit harmony with nature, an everyday object, or a person expressing their self and presence.
The delicacy with which haikus capture a moment or an experience is the same delicacy with which I try to show it in my photographs.
