Madison Houeix（マディソン・フエイックス 2001年生まれ）は、オーストラリア・メルボルンを拠点に活動するマルチディシプリナリー・アーティストです。主に油彩、ドローイング、写真を用いながら、個人的な経験や身の回りの世界の観察をもとに、儚さ、アイデンティティ、移ろいといったテーマを探求しています。近年の作品では、日常的な人物像や親しみのある場所に、どこか異世界的な感覚を重ね合わせ、柔らかく夢幻的な色彩によって、現実と想像の境界を曖昧に描き出しています。マディソンの作品は、ありふれたものと霊的・幻想的なものが交差する「はざま」の空間を生み出し、鑑賞者をその余白にそっと留まらせます。
スタジオクラでのレジデンス期間中、彼女は糸島の風景をはじめとする自然環境と個人のアイデンティティとの関係性に焦点を当て、ドローイングを通してこの探求を深めていくことを目指しています。
Madison Houeix (b. 2001) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Melbourne, Australia. Working primarily in oil painting, drawing, and photography, her practice explores themes of fragility, identity, and transience, drawing from both personal experience and observations of the world around her. Her recent work blends everyday figures and familiar places with an otherworldly sensibility, using a soft, dreamlike palette to blur the boundary between reality and imagination. Through her work, Madison creates spaces where the ordinary and the ethereal converge, inviting viewers to linger in the in-between.
During her residency at Studio Kura, she hopes to explore the relationship between the natural world, particularly the landscape of Itoshima, and personal identity, developing this inquiry through drawing.
