現在の私の制作は、日本の都市やインフラの風景を「ポストカード」という形式を通して扱っています。
日本の住宅街や都市中心部、街路を歩きながら観察し、そこにある断片的な風景を切り取り、それらをミニマルな小さなドローイングへと翻訳しています。
私は、日常的な環境に見られる抑制された視覚言語に強く惹かれています。そこでは主に機能的な必要性によって空間が形づくられ、美的な意図は二次的なものとして存在しています。ファサードや道路標識、触知誘導システムなどには、気づかれにくい静かな構成の複雑さが潜んでいます。それらはあまりにも日常的で目を引くものではないため、あるいは単なる機能としてのみ認識されてしまうために、見過ごされがちです。
私は建築を忠実に再現することを目的としているわけではありません。むしろ、観察したこれらの断片を抽象的な構成へと展開するための出発点として扱っています。
My current practice engages the urban and infrastructural landscape of Japan through the format of postcards. During my walks through Japanese residential neighbourhoods, city centres and streets, I observe and isolate fragments that are translated into minimalist small-scale drawings.
I am drawn to the restrained visual language of everyday environments and spaces shaped primarily by functional necessity, where aesthetic intention remains secondary. Facades, street signs or tactile guidance systems reveal a quiet complexity in composition that easily escapes notice. Either because they appear too ordinary to command attention to or because they are perceived purely through their utility.
Rather than pursuing a faithful translation of architecture, I treat these observed fragments as starting points for abstract composition.
