Studio Kuraでは、Robin van Hekezenによる滞在制作発表展「Obscurations」を開催します！ １か月のレジデンス期間を通してRobinが制作した最新作を展示いたします。

以下アーティストからのメッセージです。
今回のレジデンスでは、二次元と三次元を融合させることに焦点を当てました。形がさまざまな度合いで画面から突出する小さな絵画作品から、3Dアニメーションと描かれた静物との相互作用まで、実験を重ねた結果、複数の視点のレイヤーを持つ作品群が生まれました。
タイトルの「Obscurations（覆い隠すこと）」は、これらの作品において加えられた次元が構図に新たな視点をもたらす一方で、その下にあるものを隠してしまうようにも見える点に由来しています。
何かを加えることが、同時に何かを覆い隠すことにもなり得るという予期せぬ結果は、物質と真実とのあいだにある制限的な関係性について、新たな問いを生み出しています。
During this residency, the focus was on blending the two-dimensional with the three-dimensional. From small paintings in which shapes protrude to varying degrees, to the interplay between 3D animations and painted still objects, the experimentation has resulted in works with additional layers of perspective.
The title ‘Obscurations’ relates to these works in that the added dimension not only introduces a new perspective to the compositions, but also seems to conceal whatever might lie beneath it.
The unexpected result, that adding something can also mean concealing something, gives rise to a new focus of questioning the limiting relationship between matter and truth.
