Kate Kurucz is an early career artist working in Adelaide, South Australia, whose practice explores the relationship between absurdity and the sublime. Primarily an oil painter, her work has expanded to include animation and installation, with recent areas of interest including extraterrestrial communication, unsolved mysteries, and myths involving transformed women. During her residency in Japan she has been interested in the effects of light and the heat of the season.
